The Antrim Sixties Slammers proudly represent the geriatric division of pickleball. Twice your age, half your strength, by all rights you should pummel them into proper retirement. But beware of Heather’s cropped white hair as a beacon for balls accurately hit down the middle. And Jenny’s strawberry mop disguising laser like line balls. However, if you still feel that your youth, strength and speed will put the Slammers where they belong, into a retirement home with a warm blanket and pair of slippers, I dare you to lob Geordie. You will only do it once. You may not see the return ball, but you will feel its power and accuracy as it pierces the court. And Liam’s leprechaun speed around the net will make you rethink your NVZ strategy, dither and ….. well, time will tell.

In the old fashion spirit of good will, the old-time Slammers wish young and old, North and South, good luck in the upcoming games. We, the Slammers have nothing to lose but have all to gain, not to mention the delight of telling your children in the likely event we win.
